Juiced Scrambler Hardtail in Asphalt Lemonade, full side view with single battery and rigid rear frame

Juiced Scrambler Hardtail vs Full-Suspension: What Does the Extra $200 Buy?

The single-battery Juiced Scrambler Hardtail costs $1,699. The Full-Suspension model costs $1,899. The extra $200 adds a rear shock and selectable torque or cadence sensing. It does not add a larger battery or more nominal motor power.

The Hardtail is lighter and has a higher listed payload. The Full-Suspension bike offers more suspension equipment and more pedal-assist sensor choice. Your use, fit, storage, and carried load should guide the decision.

The main differences

Choose the Hardtail if you want a simpler bike, a rigid rear frame, cadence sensing, 83 lbs of bike weight, and a 300 lb listed payload. Choose the Full-Suspension model if a rear shock and sensor choice are worth $200 to you, while its 85 lb weight and 225 lb listed payload fit your setup.

Shared equipment and power specifications

Both bikes use a rear hub motor rated at 750W nominal power, with 1,764W peak power and 90Nm of torque. Both have one removable 52V 19.2Ah battery and include a 5A charger.

Juiced states a range of up to 60 miles. This is not guaranteed. Load, assist level, speed, terrain, weather, tire pressure, and riding conditions can change actual range.

Both models use Class 2 settings by default. Pedal assist and throttle are limited to 20 mph in that mode. The display can be configured for Class 3 pedal assist up to 28 mph. The throttle remains limited to 20 mph.

  • KKE inverted front fork with 140mm travel
  • Talon P4 four-piston hydraulic disc brakes
  • 6061 aluminum frame and single-speed drivetrain
  • Four assist levels and a right thumb throttle
  • TFT color display with PIN-protected settings
  • Headlight, tail light, brake light, and turn signals
  • 31.5-inch bench seat

What the suspension difference means

The Hardtail still has front suspension. Its rear frame is rigid. This creates a simpler layout with fewer suspension parts to check and service.

The Full-Suspension model adds a KKE rear shock to the same KKE front fork. The rear shock can help the bike respond differently to uneven surfaces, but it also adds another component that needs inspection and service over time. Ask the shop about setup and maintenance for the surfaces you ride.

Cadence versus torque sensing in plain language

Cadence sensing detects that the pedals are turning. Once the system detects movement, it provides motor assistance based on the selected level. Try the assistance response at low speed to see how it suits you.

Torque sensing responds to how firmly the rider pushes the pedals. The system can vary motor support as pedal pressure changes. The Full-Suspension model uses torque sensing by default and lets the rider select cadence sensing.

Neither sensor type is automatically best for every rider. A short test can help you understand which response feels natural for your legs, speed, and control preferences.

Who each model may suit

Hardtail considerations

The Hardtail may suit riders who value a lower price, simpler rear frame, lower bike weight, cadence-only assistance, and the higher listed payload. Its 20 x 4-inch tires, front suspension, single-speed drivetrain, and control layout support practical everyday riding.

Full-Suspension considerations

The Full-Suspension model may suit riders who want a rear shock and a choice between torque and cadence sensing. Its 20 x 4.5-inch CST BFT ADV knobby tires are wider than the Hardtail tires. Remember that it is 2 lbs heavier and has a 75 lb lower listed payload.

Battery, controls, and daily ownership

The removable battery can make charging easier when the bike is stored away from an outlet. Both bikes share the same battery size, charger, motor rating, display, throttle, lights, and speed settings. The extra $200 is not buying more battery range or higher nominal power.

Colors differ by model. Hardtail choices are Asphalt Lemonade, Mocha, and Orange Juice. Full-Suspension choices are Blackberry, Grape Juice, and White Cherry.
